Phobia: An overwhelming and debilitating fear of an object, place, situation, feeling or animal.
Phobias are commonly defined as irrational fears, because they are not based in any genuine danger (or the sense of danger is blown out of proportion), and very often there is no discernible cause for the phobia.
Sometimes there is a discernible cause for your extreme fear – you may be aware of a specific, scary situation in your past when you experienced that powerful sense of real danger for the first time, which then started your ongoing negative reaction to that kind of situation.
Almost 2 million UK citizens suffer from phobia(s).Common phobias include Acrophobia (fear of heights), Agoraphobia (fear of large or unfamiliar spaces), Arachnophobia, Aviatophobia (fear of flying), Claustrophobia (fear of confined spaces), Dentophobia (fear of going to the dentist), Haphophobia (fear of being touched), Haemophobia (fear of blood), Ophidiophobia (fear of snakes), Ornithophobia (fear of birds) and Trypanophobia (needle phobia).
Whatever the precise nature of your fear(s) or phobia(s), there are techniques we can use to help address them. In a hypnotic state, the conscious and unconscious parts of the mind are more accessible, and more open to influence and change. It is therefore easier to get to the heart of an issue, and easier to process any unresolved issues while in a hypnotic state.
We believe that you carry within you (within your subconscious) all the resources you need to help you moderate or manage your fears and phobias, or free yourself from them altogether – but you may benefit from some expert assistance to help you get in touch with those inner resources.
