Relationships include friends and family, as well as partners or significant others.
The sad truth is, of course, that you will only need to seek help with a relationship or relationships when they are causing you pain or distress. Obviously you’re not going to look for help when everything’s going well.
Rather than thinking of a relationship as being between you and someone else (the other), it can be useful to think of a relationship as a being in its own right – so you have a relationship with that being, and the other person has a relationship with that being.
This is useful because it reminds you that you cannot change the other person, and you have no right to do so. But you can certainly change yourself – and you can change how the relationship is affecting you. We can help you work through your unwanted feelings, such as anger, blame, resentment, guilt or grief.
We believe that you carry within you (within your subconscious) all the resources you need to help you experience your relationships in a healthy way – but you may benefit from some expert assistance to help you get in touch with those inner resources.
